Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SoundScript, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
SoundScript is a script editing application designed for theatre sound operators. It enables line-by-line mixing by displaying fader numbers for each line of dialogue, managing microphone assignments, importing PDFs, and exporting cues to QLab software.
3. User Content
You retain full ownership of all scripts, configurations, and content you create or import using SoundScript. We do not claim any rights to your content.
Server Storage: When you choose to save documents to our server, be aware that server storage is shared among all users of the service. There is no authentication or access control — any user can view and edit any server-stored document. Only use server storage for documents you intend to share with others in your production.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use SoundScript only for its intended purpose — professional theatre sound operations. You shall not:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' documents
- Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
- Interfere with the proper operation of the service
5. Third-Party Services
Vision LLM (PDF Import)
When importing PDF scripts, page images are sent to a third-party Vision Language Model API to extract text content. Your use of this feature is subject to the third-party provider's terms of service and privacy policy.
QLab Integration
SoundScript can export cues to QLab software over your local network. QLab is a third-party application not affiliated with SoundScript. Your use of QLab is governed by Figure 53's terms of service.
6. Intellectual Property
SoundScript and all related software, documentation, and content provided through the service are the property of Findlay Claydon and are protected by copyright laws. You are granted a limited licence to use the service for its intended purpose, but you do not acquire any ownership rights.
7. No Warranty
SoundScript is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. While we strive for reliability, we make no guarantees about the fitness of the software for any particular purpose.
8. Live Performance Disclaimer
Important: SoundScript is used during live theatrical performances. You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring your documents are prepared and tested before each performance
- Having backup plans in case of technical issues
- Verifying all settings, fader assignments, and cue data
- Understanding the limitations of your technical setup
We recommend thorough testing in a non-live environment before each show. SoundScript is a tool to assist you — you remain responsible for the outcome of every performance.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Findlay Claydon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of SoundScript, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the SoundScript service at any time with reasonable notice. We may also terminate your access to the service if you breach these terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of SoundScript after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
